Do you make your own yogurt?!

Question:

Do you make your own yogurt?

I do occasionally...it's REALLY good when you use half and half!! can you share your favorite recipe (that you have personally tried) for homemade yogurt?

Answers: well I do at times, but yogurt is so cheap in my country and so abundant, that I dont need to, but just for funs sake I do sometimes..
But it takes yogurt to make yogurt.. I mean.. I dont know how to start the starter..
Here is my recipe.. take 1 cup of active yogurt and 4 cups of milk.. bring the milk just to the point before it actually boils.. you will see little tiny bubbles around the inside rim of the pan, remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.. (using the thumb test, if you can stick your thumb in it and it doesnt feel scalding in 10 seconds, its cool enough).. then gently stir in the active yogurt into the milk.. Dont stir briskly cause it will make the final product bitter. Then I use any sort of thermos container or heat sealed pan with lid.. I pour in the milk/mixture and allow to sit overnight. In the morning I now have a thick yogurt...
Also you can go further and make yogurt cheese. I take this and using a strainer lined with cheese cloth or paper towels or coffee filters.. I pour in the yogurt and let drain for 4 or more hours, (even better, overnight).. then afterwards you have a nice thick cream.. Yes I have, I use 1% organic milk, and organic yogurt for the starter. I use the recipe from Martha Stewart, you can do a search on her site easily and find it. It works like a charm, and homemade has a freshness and a sweetness that can't be beat. I add some fresh raspberries and some honey and some vanilla. MMMmmm!!! I want some right now. Nah..I don't care for yoghurt. I only like real ice cream including Haagen-Daaz, Breyer's and Dairy Queen soft-serve. My moher bought a yoguty maker once but she said it is cheaper just to buy it and she said you have Yogurt to make Yoguer (for the yogurt culture stuff) it was a pain yogurt making is very old as far as India is concerned. You have to take milk ( if it is fresh fine!) Boil it till it is somewhat thick. Add a little old yogurt in that and stir. That's it. Let it be on a warm place for at least 6 hours. Your yogurt is ready. 1. First get some ice cream(chocolate, vanilla, strawberry)

2. Melt the cream

3. Put the cream in a bowl

4. Put it in the refrigerator for at least 30 min.

5. Add 3 tablespoons of water

6. Put it in the freezer for 5-10min

7. Eat and enjoy. i wish i could..i will be thankful if you will share to us your recipe!thanks!
