I really want 2 know how to make nacho cheese at home. Ive tried melting cheddar cheese but it turned out to be gross

Answers: I buy it in a jar. It is soooo good. You can find it next to the toastados at the supermarket.

Here is a recipe if you want to make it from scratch:

NACHO CHEESE DIP

1 lb. regular Velveeta cheese
1 lb. Mexican Velveeta cheese
2 (16 oz.) jars taco salsa
2 lbs. ground beef

Melt Velveeta cheese with salsa in crock pot (on high). Brown ground beef and add to melted cheese mixture.
Heat on low until ready to serve.

(you can leave out the beef if you wish)

Velveeta cheese and taco salsa mixed together make a good dip too. Try Cheez Whiz - it's yumm-o.
:) just go to Costco, they have it. oh my god you just buy velvetta cheese and do the instructions, its kind of easy to do Melt the cheddar and put some salsa in it. first you have to capture a Nacho VELVEETA cheese and your favorite salsa.....melt cheese and add salsa and anything else you like for flavor.....Happy eating......good luck Get the specific cheese for chips, like in the chips section. They make it soo good and it tastes even better heated uppp! Cube up a package of velveeta and melt it together with your favorite salsa. Try Velveeta. Cut it into 3/4 inch cubes. Microzap for about a minute, stir, microzap some more. Add some salsa, stir in a little cayenne pepper. The trick is to microwave in short bursts, then stir to keep it from burning.

If you are going to use cheddar, try mixing it will pepper jack and melting over low heat on the stove. Stir often. None of your business - it's nacho cheese.

(not your cheese - if you don't get it)
har de har Easy, buy shredded mexican cheese, put tortilla chips in glass or microwave bowl, salsa on top of chips, halopena peppers sprinkled over entire bowl of chips, top with shredded cheese, put in micowave on high for about 2 minutes..presto..there you have it .
Don't use valeeta,or cheddar...use shredded Mexican. I'm assuming you mean Nacho's with Cheese?? From Australia here so apologies if you mean something else.

You can either use a powerful microwave or an oven.

Pour the nachos, add the salsa (you can make your own or simply buy at the supermarket) and then add the cheese and melt it in the microwave or oven.

A powerful microwave will do the job, but if its not powerful enough or you leave it too long your nachos will become soggy. Putting them in an oven is better but takes longer.

Now the cheeses I tend to use is grated 'Tasty' cheese which is a cheddar type of cheese that Kraft and a number of other brands make. Or failing that Mozzarella. Note that make sure its grated, if you use blocks of cheese or the single slices it won't turn out so good.

With respect to taste if you like a stronger tasting cheese you go for the more mature type cheeses.

After this you can add your jalapenos and your sour cream and spring onion.

Bon Appetit

Jon White American Cheese and Jalape?os, to taste. When you melt the cheese add a couple of teaspoons of milk to it. It will make it creamy like in the Restaurant.

Have you ever seen Velveta Cheese used in an Authentic Mexican Restaurant? Me neither.

Ask next time they will tell you they use whit American Cheese. Buy some chedder and cut some up and put it in a bowl (big or small depending on how much you cut up and want) then put it in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. If its not completely melted then put it in for a little longer. Then Add some other stuff you may want in it. =) I like the Velveeta cheese, the large one box. I cut into little chunks and put in a large microwave bowl. I then take two cans of Rotel tomatoes. One is Mexican Festival that has tomatoes with lime juices and cilantro. The other can is with green chilies. I put them in a blender to puree the tomatoes. I then add it to the cheese and put in the microwave, taking out every few minutes to stir. Once it is completely melted, I either pour over nacho chips or dip the chips.

Sometimes I will add ground meat. I will get a pack of taco mix, follow the directions then add the meat to the cheese.

Hope that you try it. It is very simple and delicious! Try melting velvita cheese it turns out great.
