I have around 10 pounds of tomatoes at home?!

Question:

I have around 10 pounds of tomatoes at home?

I really dont want to let them go waste. Can you suggest any ideas for any type of foods I can use those tomatoes in?

Answers: I would freeze them for later use in soups, sauces, etc.

To peel the tomatoes:
Simply bring a pot of water to a boil. Drop the whole tomato in...leave in for about 20-30 seconds or so..then take out quickly and put them in a clean sink. The peelings just slip right off of the tomatoes...core them and cut them up.

Put them in freezer bags and seal.

Make the packages as big or as small as you like to fit your cooking needs.

Tomato soup You can use them to make a sauce,or use it as a pizza topping.Making soup with them is cool too,but i just prefer to eat them raw. Pasta sauce would be the easiest to do. You can use some for some fresh salads as well but to really get the most use out of them before they go bad would be to make them into pasta sauce. The pasta sauce can be frozen into individualy ziploc bags and all you need to do is take however many you need for that meal. It's quite simple and they stay nice for up to 6 months. You can use the sauce for easy meals like pasta, pizza, meatloaf, or whatever you'd like that requires tomato sauce. Goodluck! Buy some grond beef and make meat balls and put your tomatoes in the food processor for a minute to mush them into a sauce don't blend to long otherwise it will become pink can make a good tomato sauce for your pasta and freeze the rest for future use.
