How do you get a thicker sauce when making green chili sauce?

Mine always turns out a little too soupy.

I already do use corn starch. not corn starch, corn flour (masa de maize) the type you use to make corn tortillas or tamales.
as it cooks on high I sprinkle the corn flour into the green chili,stirring constantly and then turn down the heat.you could mix it with water i suppose like with corn starch and add but ive always used dry.
Ive also used reg,cornmeal when I was out of corn flour .it works but you have to do it slowly and alittle at a time or you end up with little corn lumps.
this method works well for red chili also.

Ian *Dont use water but a minimal amount of vinegar instead !!!! what is your cooking time on the green chili sauce? are you cooking it long enough? takes a long time try adding nothing till after 8 hours put in slow cooker with out a lid over night then check the thickness if not thick enough then add the cornstarch or maybe little flour
