Pork but..?!

Question:

Pork but..?

how long in a slow cooker, should we cook a 7lb pork butt (it's actually boneless pork shoulder but for some odd reason the package says "pork butt" IDK

Answers: start it in the morning on low mix ham boulian and 1/4 cup water. it falls apart when its done usually about 5 or 6 pm and make a wonderful gravy 8 hours on low... 4 hours on high..... it is pork butt... it comes from the hind quarters... aka butt You cannot really cook it too long, at least 8 hours. i would cook it approximately 3hrs. 7 lbs. in a slow cooker, figure at least 4 to 5 hrs., should be fork tender. Test with a thermometer @ 170 to 180, if unsure. Let rest before carving or "pulling" meat. put the pork butt in a large skillet with enough water. cover and simmer it. when it boils, remove the cover and continue cooking over a low fire ...

continue doing this from 30 minutes to 1 hr. Why not opt to putting it in the oven at about 200-250 degrees smothered in mustard and honey. Wrap tight with foil in a baking dish and forget about it all day. It will be ready a dinner and very tender. Then you can pull it and make pulled pork or slice it and serve it as you wish.

I would never, never cook a piece of meat covered in water.
