I want to get my cheese melted!?!

Question:

I want to get my cheese melted!?

what kind of cheese should i use to make a cheese dip? and should i buy the dip instead? and how would i melt it?

Answers: Velveeta will melt very easily for cheese dip. Or else any kind of shredded cheese you like. If you use a harder, more dry cheese, you might have to add a little milk to get it creamy -- just a splash at a time until it has the right consistency. Heat it in the microwave for a few seconds at a time, constantly checking and stirring it, or on the stove over *low* heat (also stirring). Have fun! You can use Cheddar or American cheese, and I'm talking 30 seconds in the microwave girl! :) Not sure what kind of dip. Velveeta melt to a good consistency. There should be a recipe on the box to help you out.
Good Luck! Velveeta cheese works great for cheese dip. cheddar and American get oily when melted, try Velveeta, melt in microwave or stove top slowly on low heat You can use plain cream cheese for dips, warmed.
Or stir in a little sour-cream to soften, & add herbs/spices.

Most soft cheeses will melt readily: Brie, Camembert,
Mozzarrella, American, Colby, young cheddar, etc.
Don't used hard aged cheeses by themselves.

However, you can make a cheese sauce:
Scald some milk (bring just to bubbles around the edges).
Add grated older harder cheeses, stirring constantly:
Cheddar, Asiago, Parmesan, Romano, etc. If you are a new cook, I would buy the dip, and concentrate on what you are dipping,,get some unusual things, and make sur you use colorful bowls,,,,,have fun, put some good Oasis music on,,,,,,,the party will flow..... buy quick-melt-cheese. im using it for my pizza, lasagna and bake macaroni. its the best.

in our country, we have MAGNOLIA QUICK MELT CHEESE,

but if you're in a hurry, buy your dip instead. Velveeta. It's great for cheese dips! Melts silky smooth! Some of the better melting cheeses if you are making a dip or fondue are Fontina or Gruyere. Melt it in a non stick pan if at all possible. Use medium heat, because you don't want to burn it. Add a little heavy cream to smooth it out.
