Can I pour a jiffy biscuit mix on the top of my pot pie to make the crust?!

Question:

Can I pour a jiffy biscuit mix on the top of my pot pie to make the crust?

I am going to use a 1/2 bag frozen mixed veggies, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 can milk, 2 cups of chicken and pour a biscuit mix on the top for the crust. Of course I will bake it according to box directions. Do you think this will work ok? I dont want to buy a $4 box of baking mix at the store since I rarely use it. Any suggestions?

Answers: That's what I use and everyone loves it. Also, the Jiffy brand is cheaper and just as good. Good luck!!!!! Do you have any all purpose flour? You can make a crust with APC, an egg and some water... mix it into a ball and refrigerater for 30 mintues then roll it out into a crust. If you want a flaky crust, use some butter or shortning to make it with. Yes
if you mix the biscuit dough and form them
they become dumplings
you do not HAVE to buy biscuit mix you can start with plain flour and a cookbook for biscuits... I know it will work well!! this is basically what I have been doing for years to make potpie casseroles!!
