Frozen cake question?!

Question:

Frozen cake question?

Hi
I read that i can make cake in advance and freeze it.
How do i de-freeze it so i can frost it.
Thank you

Answers: Take it out of the freezer about a day ahead. You can leave it thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature but if you thaw it in the refrigerator let it come to room temperature before frosting it. Once it's at room temperature, frost away.

You can also frost a fresh cake then freeze it. All you need to do is frost the cake (make sure the cake is sitting on a freezer-proof plate) then sit it unwrapped in the freezer until frozen. When it's frozen simply wrap it properly or put it in a freezer container. Just remove the wrap or container before it thaws out so the frosting doesn't stick to it. Just take it out of the freezer and let it thaw. just take it out of the freezer and let it defrost for at least several hours before you ice the cake. don't microwave defrost it. just let it do it's thing. even bakeries do it.
good luck. you can buy frosting in a can at any supermarket if you don't know how to make it from scratch.. You can frost your frozen cake right out of the freezer. As a matter of fact, it's much easier to frost while still frozen. Allow frosted cake to sit at room temp for a few hours, then slice and eat.
