Do you konw any chapathi making equipment?
elecrically operated
Answers: there is a roti maker that you can buy - it is available at big bazaar and many other super markets
It is a hand press system, where you have to put the atta and then press it - it converts the atta into the roti and then electrically cooks/makes it - you have to open and close the lid at the right time to get a good fluffy roti.
My experience has not been very good with it as the atta has to be kneaded just right, and the opening and closing of the lid has to be done at the right time. However thats just me, one of my friends wife has perfected this - if you are willing to try few times, it is a good thing
if you want to have a look at how it looks - here is a link - not the exact one, but something similar
http://www.bizrate.com/miscellaneous/oid... I love chapatis!
All you need is a cast iron or non stick pan. An electric griddle would work too.
Here's a great 'how to' article with a recipe included.
Enjoy Yes there is one, you put water and floor into it and get hot chapatis ready made, equal size, equal weight. It is used as a mass production tool, say 2000 chapaties in one hour, and works on electricity and cost at about 10 lakh. One was installed in Golden Temple Amritsar and worked for many years there, It was donated by some NRI to the temple and was foreign make. Due to some enviornment problem it was removed some time back as it was polluting the atmosphere in the Temple, It was fully automatic There are lot of chapathi making machines in the market, but personally, i feel that the chapathis made with the help of those machines become rubbery after some time. So i think they can be better used like a non-stick tava to make dosas and papads without oil. u will get it easily through asian sky shop it is called roti maker
