I was thinking egg yolks, but Im probably wrong. Please help.


Answers: Most people, when they say "moist" in relation to cookies, really mean "soft", even though soft cookies are usually pretty dry.

Egg yolks makes them taste more moist, but your cookies will tend to spread out very thin, and get crispy crunchy.

Replace sugar with corn syrup, and you end up with softer cookies. Brown sugar or buttermilk will always make things more moist. If you are doing rolled and cut cookies use confectioner's sugar (powdered) instead of flour to dust your surface with. eggs,brown sugar and don't cook them as long ,all of those things help heres a recipe that says they will be moist take a look :) have fun!!! It could depend on the oil you use.

Flaxseed oil which is expensive adds moisture to granola bars, so it will cookies also. The brown sugar vs. white sugar helps and a good ole' Paula Dean secret is Sour Cream.

But, I prefer to use the real stuff when I bake them. No sense in skimping if you want a good cookie. Criso shortening (in the can) is the best thing I have ever used to make sure they are moist and chewy every time. Substitue the water for apple sauce. This works especially well in cakes, but will work equally as well in cookies.

Whatever amount of water the recipe calls for use apple sauce instead. The cookies will come out very moist and stay that way for days. Depending upon the recipe, you could add just a bit of veggie oil. To keep them moist even they bake, I layer them in a tupperware type bowl, cover each layer with wax paper and making sure that the lid is secure and "burped". This helps them from drying out.

Good luck! Add a packet of (vanilla) pudding into your mix. You could try adding some honey to the recipe. Honey adds flavor and moisture to cookies and contributes to a softer, chewier texture. I find that taking them out when the bottoms are a light golden brown and then letting them finish cooking and cooling on a glass cutting board works great. substitute the oil or water with applesauce, it is also healthier :)
