Batter for homemade spam fritters?!
Batter for homemade spam fritters?
not sure if its the same as yorkshire pudding batter??
Answers: sorry cant answer your question but you have reminded me of a much loved food i havent eaten in years, thankyou, im off to the chippy. Spam fritters....now there's an idea! I'm thinking that your batter should be made from a beer base and might include a little corn meal to bring out the flavor of the spam, sort of like a corn dog. The beer will enhance the "sausage" like aspect of the spam and you'll have the best of both worlds! never herd of spam fritters but here's a spam casserole that's good
1 can spam diced
1 small onion chopped
1 green or red pepper chopped
1can cream of mushroom soup
1 box macaroni and cheese
cook macaroni and drain all water out
combine all ingredients and bake covered at 350 for 45 min
and serve hi
4oz plain flour
pinch of salt
1 large egg
1/4 pint of milk
or
4oz plain flour
2tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1/4 pint water
1tbsp oil
Just mix in bowl - your batter mix should be thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon
You can also try adding a tiny little bit of sugar to the mix and a tiny splash of malt vinegar.
I'm no great cook but had no complaints about my fritters yet lol
Enjoy! For a nice light batter use the following:
4oz plain flour
2 eggs
small amount of milk
Separate the egg yolks from the whites and put the whites in a cup in the fridge
Put the flour in a large mixing bowl and add the egg yolks and a quantity of milk. Beat until smooth and the batter looks like Yorkshire Pudding Batter.
Beat the egg whites until stiff.
Fold the egg whites into batter and stir gently.
The batter is now ready to use.
