When you bake something how do you measure splenda when being subsituted for sugar?
I have a family member that is diabetic and I wanted to make a cake for a christmas present and I wanted to know how to measure splenda when I substitute it for sugar.
Answers: they tell you to use the same quantities as sugar, but I find it sweeter than sugar (I take 2 sugars in my tea, but only 1 splenda)
so I would half the quantities. Splenda measures the same as sugar. It should say it right on the box. Use the regular Splenda, NOT the Splenda specifically for baking. splenda can be substituted measure for measure for real sugar. What they said. i believe you use the same amount of splenda as the sugar. it should tell you on the package You may notice a smaller yield when substituting SPLENDA? Granular for sugar. In some cases, cakes and quick breads will not rise as high as their full-sugar counterparts, but they will still taste delicious!
Switch from 9" round pans to 8" round pans with 2" sides. Also, try adding 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda for every 1 cup of SPLENDA? Granular Make sure you adjust your recipe for the loss in 'bulk' ingredients. You should probably go to the Splenda web site and look for a cake recipe there. You will notice that Splenda is much lighter and fluffier and less dense than regular sugar, so your cake will come out much smaller than you think, and it may not taste as good... In a regular measuring cup just like sugar but you add it at the end!
