Brewers yeast for making apple cider vinegar?!

Question:

Brewers yeast for making apple cider vinegar?

I need to use brewers yeast to make apple cider vinegar, but all I have on hand are the tablets you buy in the vitamin aisle.

Does anyone know if these will meet the requirement?
Thanks in advance.

I have heard conflicting info on brewers yeast...that is is dead yeast with nutrients left behind and that it is live yeast.

I had only wanted to hasten the process and won't be using the tablets since they aren't what is required.

Thanks again!

Thanks again! I say it is unnecessary. the natural yeast on the apple should do...
(you did leave the skin on as you ground the mash???) Right?
BUT try
http://www.thebeveragepeople.com... No they will not. That is not live yeast. Look in the yellow pages or onling for "Homebrewing supplies"
