How do you call this dish?
It has ground pork, diced carrots and potatoes, cooked in tomato sauce.
Answers: It is called Ground Pork Menudo. It is also nice if you add green peas and red bell pepper. Hmm, delicious! It just sounds like stew to me. Hungarian goulash even. Chili maybe Sounds like Indian "Kheema"(means minced meat stew). I have a recipe like this with tomato juice or v-8 and it also has cabbage in it. It is a very tastey stew. All it needs is a little salt, pepper and I use rosemary leaves and thyme finely chopped. It is good served with a hunk of crusty bread or homemade croutons or saltine crackers. stew I don't think it has a special name. It's just a tomato based soup or stew w/ veggies and pork. Someone mentioned Menudo. The Menudo I've had in Mexico is supposedly a hangover cure. It's a hearty, spicy soup made with tripe, calf's feet, green chilies, hominy and lots of seasonings. It was served with lime wedges, bowls of chopped chilies and onion and hot tortillas and , of course, cerveza. we call it "ginisang giniling na baboy"... add some peas, red and green pepper...put in dried laurel leaf....serve over steaming rice.... I would say minced pork in tomato sauce.
