Answers: Seven Layer Salad Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
6 cups chopped lettuce
salt and pepper
6 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
2 cups frozen peas, thawed
8 to 16 ounces bacon, crisp-cooked, drained, and crumbled
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded mild Cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup sliced green onion with tops
paprika
PREPARATION:
Place 3 cups of the lettuce in bottom of large bowl; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Layer egg slices over lettuce in bowl and sprinkle with more salt and pepper. Continue to layer vegetables in this order: peas, remaining lettuce, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheese, along with light sprinklings of salt and pepper. Combine mayonnaise and sugar; spread over top, spreading to edge of bowl to cover entire salad. Cover and chill 24 hours or overnight. Garnish with green onion and a little paprika. Toss before serving.
This salad serves 12 to 15. chop some cherry tomatoes, maybe some spinach, some onions, just anything really, old boiled pototoes would be nice to and sprinkle with cheese, pop in the microwavw so the tomato juices all run and the cheese melts! not so pretty but delicious
or if it need to look good, rocket lettuce, cherry tomatoes, basil, sliced brei and parma ham may seem too expensive but it's really not if you go to a super,arket like lidl's! i am not even going to try to out do captain c seven layer salad. it is making me hungry. Make a fruit salsa, with cinnamon chips. It rocks!
Or that green salad with the marshmellows and pineapple. I have a couple of ideas for you. Hope this can help

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh dill weed
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cucumbers, sliced
1 cup sliced red onion
2 ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, mix the vinegar, sugar, salt, dill, pepper, and oil. Add cucumbers, onion, and tomatoes. Toss, and let stand at least 15 minutes before serving.


Chickpea Salad with Red Onion and Tomato

INGREDIENTS
19 ounces garbanzo beans, drained
2 tablespoons red onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 cup chopped parsley
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine the chickpeas, red onion, garlic, tomato, parsley, olive oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste. Chill for 2 hours before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve.

Carrot Salad

6 Big Carrots
1 apple
2 Oranges
Half a pineapple
Sugar to taste

DIRECTIONS
Crate the carrots, the apple and pine apple in to a bowl.
Squeeze the oranges juice and pour over the carrots, apple and the pineapple.
Add the sugar and mix it well.
Put in the fridge and serve cold this is what I do for salad...
you'll need:
1 bag of iceberg salad or a head of lettuce
about 3 heaping table spoons of mayonnaise
1 ripe avocado, cubed
2 stalks of green onions, sliced and diced
1 ripe tomato, cubed
1/4 bag of flavored croutons
5 strips of cooked bacon, broken into small pieces
1 cup of fancy shredded SHARP cheddar cheese

mix it all up in a bowl and you're good to go.... it tastes great. A Sicilian salad:

2 Peeled & sliced oranges (preferably blood oranges)
1 Small red onion (sliced thin)
Some (Moroccan) baked black olives
Oil & red wine vinegar, s&p and some oregano.

Mix, chill and serve a before or after dinner salad. ok when u first read this ur gonna go ewwww but It actually rocks!
1/2 head of cabbage(green or red)sliced
1 medium onion chopped
1 bell pepper sliced(optional)
1 small can Of mushrooms rinsed and drained
1 can of red kidney beans(drained and rinsed)
Olives are also optional
celery seeed about 1 tsp
salt and pepper to taste and 1 large bottle of ranch or italian dressing.Mix all ingrediants and let set for at least 3 hours.

I know it sounds really gross but It is great! I use ranch instead of italian like my mom arugula and baby spinach,silced pear or peach,crumbled goat′s cheese,sprinkle cashews,honey mustard dressing.serve with warm bread.
