Best method of removing persimmon pits when making jelly?!

Question:

Best method of removing persimmon pits when making jelly?

Our recipe calls for you to push the persimmons throw a strainer of a food mill but neither method works and we are forced to remove them by hand.

Answers: ?? Usually when you make jelly, you are only using the juice, not the pulp. So, tossing the whole mess into a jelly bag, and throwing out the pulp and seeds would seem to work.

Persimmon pits aren't that hard to remove -- why don't you pre-pit them (slice into quarters, and remove with a knife or spoon) before you cook them? Or just fish them out with a teaspoon before you put them in the food mill.

Raspberry seeds, now *that's* a challenge. But persimmons? Maybe you have a particular seedy variety.
