How many day are rotisserie chickens good for once you buy them from a supermarket?
Answers: I throw everything out after three days...those chickens are very nice and useful for other things.I have mixed taco seasoning and sliced onions and wrapped in tortiall shells and made fajitas with them the day after and also taken all the meat off and mixed with miracle whip and onion and celery and sprinkle of sugar and made wonderful chicken salad....with the left over meat. You could also make chicken tortiall soup with it. if stored properly in the fridge, a week. of course, i've known to keep mine for more than that and it's still good. I always use it the day of. Then, all the leftovers, I remove from the bones and put in Ziploc bags. If you don’t remove it- it has a gamey taste the next day. I’ll use the leftover chicken the next day and the day after, toss after that- but there’s usually never any left by then. I've used them for up to two weeks. One week is best. Once they are cooked, and kept well, they stay good for a long time. I would say 3 maybe 4 days, tops. When you buy them, you tend to know they were cooked pretty recently, so it's safe to leave them for a few days. I bought one just the other day. Had some, made chicken salad with it the next day and then last night took all the meat that was left, put it in some BBQ sauce and made a pizza with it! Worked out nicely and they are so cheap as well. Once brought home, they should last as long as regular home made foods.Just put in fridge or freeze for later. That's what I do.... a few days if stored properly 7-8 days
