Do you buy ground turkey in stead of hamburger?
The ground turkey I looked at was very high in fat. so how can it be healthier?
Answers: Yes I have boughten ground turkey. You have to shop around. Some of the cheaper brands are very high in fat. You want to look for a ground turkey that uses the white breast me. Hamburger even though it can say lean, is still higher in fat then ground turkey. If your family does not like the taste of ground turkey. You can start by mixing half and half. Slowly using more ground turkey. Then will soon get use to the taste and enjoy eating healthier food. I am not saying that hamburger is bad for you. It is ok in moderation. But you can use ground turkey in any dish you would use hamburger. I use it in hotdish, chilie, sloppy joes, and meat loaf to name a few. Yes it is much healthier for you. Yes it does have some fat. but much less then hamburger. The difference(why it's healthier) is that hamburger is RED MEAT...
Turkey is WHITE MEAT.
I buy ground turkey, but I look for Ground Turkey that is low in fat. Ground turkey breast is some of the leanest meat there is.
Red meat is OK once in a while but white meat is better as part of a regular diet. Meat in general is something none of us should eat a lot of. When you go to a steakhouse and order an 8 ounce sirloin, you're ordering twice as much meat as what you should really eat in one meal.
The high fat content is not good. The leaner the meat you buy, the better it is for your health. But don't eat too much.

I use it a lot and really like turkey burgers. I season them with a little Worcestershire sauce.
