Trying something new, what do you think?
I am trying to figure out what to make for dinner tonight does this sound nasty or do you think it may turn out ok? I am cooking some stew meat with garlic, salt and pepper and some other herbs and spices. then thinking about putting in some peas and green beans and rice and making like a stew out of it. any thoughts? Sam, you can feel free to use it. Thanks to all for the help. I added onion soup mix and carrots and peas, but no beans. used some worchestershire sauce then thickened the broth with some flour. It was awesome, the hubby liked it too.

A little vinegar or soy sauce will help tenderize the meat. I would keep the rice separate and put the stuff on top maybe add some carrots for color Needs onions and probably tomatoes. Keep the rice separate. Thought of curry? It sounds good. I wouldn't put rice in with the potatoes or you will be so starchy it will be too thick for a stew. I would cook the rice separately and serve the stew over it. It sounds pretty good, if you want both rice and potatoes ,I am sure it would work, I would add cooked rice though and then add or pour over your mixture on the rice. Keep the rice separate. You definitely need some cubed potatoes, and some carrots would be good too. I'd probably do the beans or the peas, but would be okay with both. A splash of red wine, and some mushrooms would be tasty. Your little recipe sounds good. You could put the rice on the side and put rice on the plate and then put everything else on it. Either way sounds good. Do you mind if I "steal" your idea?!
