Delicious Grilled Hamburgers

Original recipe yield: 3 servings

INGREDIENTS
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon olive oil
seasoned salt to taste

DIRECTIONS
Preheat a grill for high heat.
In a medium bowl, lightly mix together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke and garlic powder. Form into 3 patties, handling the meat minimally. Brush both sides of each patty with some oil, and season with seasoned salt.
Place the patties on the grill grate, and cook for about 5 minutes per side, until well done.


Hawaiian-Style Ground Beef Patties

Comments: For a change from Islands'way of serving, serve these ground beef patties garnished with chopped Macadamia nuts.
Servings: 4

1 pound [454 g] ground beef
1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] pepper
1 [8-ounce / 227-mL] can pineapple chunks
1 tablespoon [15 mL] prepared mustard
1 teaspoon [5 mL] brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] ground ginger
4 flat individual corn breads, toasted then buttered
Coconut flakes, to taste
Delicately mix together ground beef, salt and pepper.
Shape seasoned ground beef into 4 approximately 1-inch [2.5-cm] thick patties.
Drain pineapple chunks reserving juice separately; mix together pineapple juice, prepared mustard, brown sugar and ground ginger.
Brown ground beef patties into a frypan over medium heat, brushing patties often with a little of pineapple juice mixture, for 8 minutes.
Turn patties over, brush patties with a little more pineapple juice mixture, and brown patties for 4 minutes more.
Add reserved pineapple chunks to frypan, then pour in all remaining pineapple juice mixture.
Cook patties for 4 minutes more, or until done to taste.
Arrange toasted buttered flat corn breads onto 4 individual plates.
Top each with a groudn beef pattie.
Evenly coat each with pineapple sauce.
Serve immediately, sprinkled to taste with coconut flakes. Source(s):
