Flat and chewy choc chip cookies?
Hey i need a chocolate chip cookie recipe that makes nice flat and chewy cookies.
i want them to look like the first picture, NOT the second picture:

see how the second picture is fat and crunchy looking and the first ones are flat and chewy looking? i want the chewy looking ones. also, i need the recipe to be home tested. i dont want one that you havent used before cuzz i need to know that they work out the way that i want them to. thanks.
Answers: Stacy, This is the BEST recipe I have ever made. They have a picture and you wont believe how excellent they are. I bake all the time and this is the only(chocolate chip cookie) recipe I make anymore. They are a little crisp around edges but are gooey inside and flat. Oh my what a cookie! Also check out the reviews on these cookies on same page as recipe. Alot of the recipes on this site are very good. Hope you give it a try, you will NOT be disappointed. Source(s):

It's the only type of chocolate chip cookies I make anymore because nothing compares to it. It's easy to make and the cookies turn out almost exactly like the ones in the first picture! try www.allrecipes.com For me, whenever I use cheap flour, the cookies turn out flat and chewy. (-: I like the soft, nicely rounded cookies myself, so I have to use expensive bread flour to make them.
I use the Toll-House recipe on the back of the package. I swear, EVERY time I use the cheap flour, they turn out flat and chewy. Hope that helps. Oh, also, don't bake too long. Use the shorter of the baking times, or even try cutting off a minute or two. well it took me a while to figure this out too.
my family doesn't make cookies from scratch, we would buy the cookie dough & cook them at home.
since I have two younger brothers, both can finish a batch (12 for each) on their own.
what I do is follow the directions on what it gives you. Like the ones I buy say 10 - 14 minutes. But here's the catch, the longer the harder, the shorter the more (somewhat) uncooked depending on your oven. Measure your cookies by weight, place them evenly on your tray, put it in your oven after its finished preheating. Now here's where it gets.... different, depending on your oven, you might have to rotate your tray of cookies. I don't have to do that for mine since my oven is new.
So anyway somewhere between the minimum & maximum time it gives you, take it out & LET IT REST, don't take it off the tray. Like some say remove cookies onto a cooling rack to cool. Well what I do is leave it on the hot tray & wait until it cools. Another this is depending on the weather, cause sometimes on a humid hot day you can do that, if not you'll have to leave it in your oven after its done cooking, make sure you finish cooking them near the minimum cooking time, then turn your oven off.
& you should get chewy cookies. My brothers love them, everyday its "make cookies!" n.n
