Ok, thanks guys ! Please don't toss the meat ! I found out a few years ago that, that smells comes from the plastic packing. If the ribs were spoiled it would stink even after rinsing. YES THIS IS NORMAL No, if they smelled bad when you first opened it, toss it. Thats how you tell, if food smells funny dont eat it...the smaell is from bacteria. when in doubt
toss it out If they were vacuum packed and not past dated, I am sure they are OK. Sometimes the odor comes from being sealed like that. Rinsing off was a good idea. I wouldn't chance it. If you bought them recently I would call the store explain to them the situation and if you have the reciept they will probably refund the price. take them back to the store where you bought them along with the WRAPPER they came in. there should be an expiration date on that package.
it's not worth getting sick or poisoned over. sometimes when you first open them they will smell like the plastic and that makes them smell spoiled so yes it is normal if they smell ok now and are not greenish in color no they spoiled
would get a sickly smell to meat if spoiled also a slimy texture and a green tinge to meat best throw away or can contract botulism not a good thing many discomforting effects It happens very often that after opening the vacuum package a bad smell comes out first. If the color of the meat did not change, and the smell went off after rinsing, it is probably not spoiled.
