Why does it say on the back of TV dinners not to use a toaster oven?!

Question:

Why does it say on the back of TV dinners not to use a toaster oven?

I was wondering why all tv dinners say not to use a toaster oven. My kitchen is totally disabled and I need to cook up some food in my new toaster oven with convection! :)

Any ideas why all the TV dinners say no toaster oven?

Answers: It says that because old toaster ovens where just that toasters. The element came on and stayed on. Thus it would cook the top of something but not the middle.

With the new ovens with temperature control you shouldn't have a problem. If it is convection even better.

Do watch it to make sure. Probably because the trays are not made of tin foil anymore, but a more combustible material that -- if it gets too close to a heat source (such as the heating element of your toaster oven) -- would catch fire. cause it will literally burn it up and the packaging isnt designed for that kind of heat !!! Toss it in the Toaster Oven and find out.. I have no idea but I do it anyway and it works out just fine. I have a gas oven and hate it. So far I've had no problem using the toaster over. Just keep an eye on it when using it. If you smell it, it's likely done. good luck :-) bc the plates are made out of Platic that would melt in your toaster oven. and if u took the contents out... the sauces would evaporate... Most TV dinners come in a thin plastic tray. The toaster oven would cook that plastic, and it would melt. Too much direct heat.
Use a Microwave instead.
