If i wanted to cook a romantic dinner for a girl what do you suggest?
Roses of course and candle lite also.
Answers: awwww......so sweet I LOVE roses & a candle light dinner is so romantic :)
Just find out what her likes & dislikes are
Then fix her whatever she likes she will be happy w/ whatever you fix I think just the simple fact that you are doing this for her she will be so happy. Good luck :)
Maybe she would like some pickles & pb hahahaha well i would say actually some simple spagetti or fedducini alfredo or maybe a nice vegetable medly with some candel light and romantic roses, and maybe some nice warm dinner rolls on the table, OH and maybe a little romantic backround music?...yea that would definately fit the scene!
***I HOPE THIS HELPS!** Lasagna with a salad made of lettuce, cucumbers, tomato and an Italian dressing. French bread with garlic, Red wine and for desert (if she has not offered her self for this fantastic meal) you would serve strawberries dipped in chocolate.
Please do not forget the music. Nothing sappy but some thing to sooth the soul and make her want seconds.....=)!!! thats so cutee. and um just something easy and simple, so that u can actually enjoy your night. have fun! italian is always a good choice, my favorite is chicken alfredo, maybe with a ceaser salad and bread sticks. DOnt forget the wine. Look under Racheal Ray or Emeril website, they got awesome receipes, Tip-lots of women like fresh flowers an assortment of them mixed up instead of roses, there less expensive and last longer..........Good luck:) well spaghettis always a good choice Italian food, of course!
A pan of lasagna or manicotti is easy to make ahead, easy to delay (prrrr....owwww....) and very delicious the next day.
Get an Angel food cake for dessert & serve it under fresh fruit---strawberries or peaches. Something easy and not too messy to eat. Stuffed pasta. Or broiled fish and vegetables. There are lots of websites for easy meals on the net. Find out what kind of food she likes and try to please her. The effort is what counts. I would start with a small aperitif, move into a tossed salad with tomatoes, coutons , shaved carrots and avocado with a balsamic dressing.
the main course would be lamb in rosemary with honey-glazed peas and garlic mashed potatoes.
Dessert would be a tiramisu or creme brulee. the wine would be a white zin (de loach is a great choice) if you're nervous about your cooking skills, go to trader joe's or whole foods and get premade stuff, then heat it on the stove so she thinks you made it yourself. I always thinks brownies are a great dessert, get the triple chunk ones that come in the box, they're the best. she'll dig you for sure. Honestly, almost anything you cook for her will be romantic, especially with candles and roses! It's the thought, more than it is the food, and most of us are suckers for a guy that cooks us dinner! (or breakfast, for that matter!)
If you really want to go all out, make a nice salad with the meal, and serve something chocolately at the end,
For pasta, Alfredo is a good suggestion, or if she likes seafood, do a nice shrimp scampi or seared tuna steaks. Filet minon is nice, especially if you do a nice bernaise or au poivre sauce with it. If she loves chicken, do a chicken piccata - light and lemony. Or a small rack of lamb is always decadant.
Be sure not to forget a nice bottle of wine or sparkling grape juice, to make it really romantic! Good Luck! I'm surprised no one has said this...
ask her (or someone who knows her) her favourite meal!
but, if that's a no go yet, there's some things you want to think about.
1. Easy, quick, painless. Now you can help this out by getting all your mise en place (ingredients/equipment) ready. But basically you don't want things that are complicated and have lots of processes.
2. How do you eat it? There are some meals that are simply unsexy to eat. You want something that isn't going to fall on her/your lap, and you want to make sure that you know what you're doing when you bring the food to your mouth (no slurping soup/spaghetti)
3. Flavours. Another place to keep it simple. You don't want to get too adventurous with your spicing and ingredient combinations.
4. Don't stress. Chances are if this girl is having a romantic dinner with you, even if your cooking sucks she'll smile and say she enjoyed it. After all, the night really isn't about the food, but about the effort.
So while we may make suggestions, I personally think you should come up with this one by yourself. Put some thought into it, and it can only make the night more special. For entree you can't go wrong with Camembert cheese and crackers. If you are over the drinking age, a nice dry red or white wine (depending on what you like) or soda water, a shot of vodka and cut a lime and crush it, add a slice of lime for decoration. If you are under the drinking age don't use vodka but you could cut and crush a lime and mix with sprite over ice.
I would suggest a Caesar salad
Ingredients (serves 4)
* 4 rashers bacon, rind removed, cut into 2cm pieces
* 2 slices white bread, cut into 1cm (half inch) cubes
* 4 chicken breast fillets
* leaves from 2 baby cos or 1 large cos lettuce (cos lettuce is known as romaine lettuce in some places)
* 4 eggs, hard-boiled, cut into wedges (optional)
Dressing
* 1 cup whole-egg mayonnaise
* 2 tablespoons lemon juice
* 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
* 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
* 4 anchovy fillets
* 1 garlic clove
Method
1. Cook bacon in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high until crisp. Remove and drain on a paper towel. Add bread to frying pan. Cook for 3 minutes or until golden and crisp. Remove to a plate with bacon.
2. Reduce heat to medium. Add chicken to pan. Cook for 4 minutes each side or until cooked through. Stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Slice chicken diagonally.
3. To make dressing: Place all ingredients into the bowl of a food processor. Process until smooth. Transfer to a bowl. Cover and refrigerate. If you don't have a food processor just stir ingredients in a bowl and mix ingredients as well as you can and make sure the anchovy fillets are broken down as much as you can.
4. Wash and dry cos lettuce leaves. Arrange in a serving bowl. Top with chicken, bacon, bread and egg. Drizzle with dressing. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
For dessert
Chocolate mousse (this is good because it is made ahead in advance)
* 8 eggs, separated
*1 cup sugar
*1 cup heavy cream
*1 tablespoon instant coffee (optional)
*8 ounces dark chocolate
*1. Melt chocolate and set aside.
*2. In a blender combine egg yolks and sugar,mix for 2 minutes.
*3. Add chocolate and Heavy cream and coffee,blend for 2 minutes.
* 4. Add egg whites and blend for 4 minutes.
*5. Pour into serving dish and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
After dessert
If you drink coffee you could make coffee and use cream instead of milk.
Or hot chocolate.
If you aren't a confident cook get something that you only have to heat in the oven like Chicken Kiev and make a simple salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and salad dressing.
For desert something like a Sara Lee dessert with cream or icecream.
Most important is just to have fun cooking and have a great time romancing the girl (the most important thing)! What ever you make she'll love it, trust me ;) i would cook steak a baked potato and some sort of vegetable sure she will like whatever you cook for her, what is your specialties, cook for her. ahhh well you know better!
~take care~
