What are some fun recipes for?
Kraft macaroni and cheese? (Not the ones from the website, I want your own personal additions. I know about adding hot dogs and chili powder.)
Also, do you make it according to the instructions or do you have your own style?
I like to put chunks of country ham in mine. I also make the sauce a special way. I melt butter in a cup, add the cheese sauce stirring until all of the lumps are out, add a dash of milk, stirring again and then pour it over the macaroni.
Answers: Add just a hint of hot sauce.
Add some cooked broccoli.
Add some warmed leftover chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces.
Any or all of the above.
Brown a pound of ground beef, drain well. Drain a 14 oz. can of tomato pieces. Add to browned beef and heat gently while you make the mac and cheese, cutting back on milk just a bit. When everything has finished cooking, stir together and serve. If you like, you can cook half an onion with the ground beef. You can also put this in a casserole dish and top with shredded cheddar or cheddar with taco seasoning and broil until cheese is browned a bit.
I don't like hot dogs or chili powder in mine. But adding leftover smoked ham chunks is delicious. Source(s):
40+ years of cooking and baking I add fresh chunks of tomato- believe me the warm tomatoes and cheese is great My mom used to add tomato sauce to turn it pink and give it a great flavor. We loved it! When I was little my mom would sometimes make a tuna casserole with it. She always bought the creamy and then should would add tuna (drained) and peas. It was simple but as a kid I remember really liking it. For my sauce I use extra butter and cut back slightly on the milk, it makes it taste so good! It might sound weird but if I'm in the mood I add tuna fish to it, yum! I found out long time ago that if you add the canned ham (like the canned chicken) to macaroni and cheese it taste wonderful!
May sound wierd, but it is great. I know from 30+ years of cooking. I you can get the low sodium ham it is better.
