Chocolate cake idea help!!!?
okay.. im making a pillsbury chocolate cake mix.. but i need some tips on what to do after i bake it ... i need a chocolatie homemade frosting.. and other ideas for stuff to put on it to make it extra chocolatie...like little choco chips or something.. any suggestions??? (give me everything you've got!)
Answers: add to batter before baking mini chocolate chips, skorbar pieces are good too,
for a frosting and filling try this:
1 cup cocoa powder
2 cups icing sugar(powdered sugar)
1 pint of whipping cream
mix all together and whip it till stiff peaks form
use to fill sliced layer cake and frost.
keep in fridge till serving time.
you can add 1 tables spoon of instant coffee for a mocha flavored frosting to it. if i were you I would go BUY some frosting... whipped chocalote frosting is delicious and WAY easier than making icing.... but something I do quite often when I make cakes that goes over REALLY well is putting pieces of candy all over the cake.... and if you use something like reeses pieces or M&Ms you can spell out something like "good luck" or "Happy Birthday" and the cake will be delicious and appealing to the eye... My choc frosting isnt that good on cake mix cakes, but whenever I go to Williams-Sonoma, I always pick up some piping bags and tips. I know you're probably thinking they're expensive, but they are so worth it! If you have a vegetable peeler, you can 'peel' off some chocolate shavings from the side of the bar. Hope this helps! look in the fridge !!
i made one heck of a delisious spread using ,blending or adding just about any sweet leftover from the icecream toppings.
my extra (choclate treat were m&m's and hershey's quick-crust syrup ,add extra with some crushed macadamia-nut's
talk about gggggggggggggoooooodddddddddd!... here it is..
Chocolate Frosting Recipe
This is an excellent and quick frosting recipe!
Prep:10m Cook:10m Servings:5
Ingredients
1/2 c. of cocoa
1/3 c. of milk
1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla
6 tbsp. of softened butter
2 2/3 c. of confectioners' sugar
Directions
First you need to add butter to a bowl and cream.
The next thing to do is add sugar and cocoa and mix.
Now add in the milk slowly, mixing the whole time.
Then add in the vanilla, mixing also.
Finally, you are ready to spread on your cooled cake. How about filling it with whipped cream and raspberries/bananas?
Whip up some fresh full-fat cream, add some powdered sugar and vanilla, spread on one cake half, top with fruit, then second cake half, then top it all with some more cream and some chocolate curls. To stop the cream from making the cake too soggy, melt some berry jam (strained) and spread on the cake before adding the cream (let it cool first or else the cream will melt).
