How do I make creamy pasta salad?!

Question:

How do I make creamy pasta salad?

Like the basic creamy pasta salad you buy from Coles, Woolies, Chicken shops etc. It has like pasta elbows, grated carrot, grated cheese and a creamy dressing but I have no idea how to make it!

I forgot to add, I've googled lots of recipes, I don't want the fancy ones, just the very basic one that you find in supermarkets.

I forgot to add, I've googled lots of recipes, I don't want the fancy ones, just the very basic one that you find in supermarkets. Here is a simple macaroni salad recipe.

Cook elbow macaroni per directions on box. Drain and quickly return to the pot and add 1 cup Zesty Italian salad dressing with 1TBSP salt and 1 tsp pepper. Mix this around and let the macaroni cool.

Meanwhile, mix the following: 1 cup grated carrots, 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and 2 cups mayonaise,1/4 cup cider vinegar, 2 tsp sugar, 2 hard cooked eggs chopped small and 1 TBSP mustard. Mix together thoroughly and add to macaroni.

Ive had this recipe with a can of tuna and some frozen peas added or a package of salad shrimp. There are endless variations......enjoy! http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=creamy... Get a sample and pay VERY close attention to the flavor of the dressing they use.

The way I do it is if I want something tangy, I use creamy Italian dressing, and if I want just a regular flavor, then I use Hidden Valley Ranch dressing. Its simple and fast and doesn't take any extra ingredients (I usually have one or both types of dressing in my fridge).

I typically take pasta (type doesn't really matter, but I typically use twirls), throw in some frozen peas & carrots the last 5 minutes of the cooking time, and then toss in some sliced olives after the rinse (when I'm getting ready to add the sauce). CREAMY ITALIAN PASTA SALAD

1 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. twisted macaroni, cooked & drained
1 c. quartered cherry tomatoes
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. sliced ripe olives

Combine first 6 ingredients. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover; chill. Makes 3 cups. Hmmm!! I use about a cup of Mayonnaise per quart of pasta. But you can use any creamy dressing you like. How about Ranch dressing?

Just remember if the pasta is al dente it will absorb the oil from the dressing and become flabby. To prevent this, put dressing in just before serving. **sweet pasta salad** ( I've made this one its good:))

INGREDIENTS
1 pound rotini pasta
4 carrots, shredded
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, diced
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup white sugar
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups mayonnaise
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
In large bowl, combine pasta, carrot, green pepper and onion. In medium bowl, combine vinegar, sugar, condensed milk, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Toss salad with dressing and chill 4 hours in refrigerator before serving
