Hot chocolate for a party...?!

Question:

Hot chocolate for a party...?

how do you have a a big pot of hot chocolate on a stove for guests to laddle mugs full? how do you make it?

thanks
God Bless

Answers: HOT CHOCOLATE MIX

8 quarts powdered milk
1 pound Nestle's Quick
1 pound confectioner's sugar
8 ounces coffee creamer, powdered

Mix together and store in covered container. Use 1/4 cup and add hot water for each mug.
Serving Size: 12.

Instead of having the hot chocolate on the stove I would just have mugs and the powder beside the stove. Then have hot water on. Then they can make it on their own. I would also have a buffet of things your guests can add to their treat. Such as marshmallows, peppermint sticks, chocolate sauce, etc. Source(s):
Mmmmm good This makes a really rich, spicey hot choclate that's perfect with a good, cold dollop of cream, I usually make this just for myself but the idea is the same for more servings:
Take a liter or so of milk (whatever is enough to serve however many guests you have), add one vanilla bean (cut in half lengthwise with seeds scraped out), 2 sticks of cinnamon and 2 small dried chilis (the ratio is half a vanilla bean +1 stick + 1 2-inch dried chili per 2 cups of milk) and bring to a boil over medium heat. Whisk it often to stop it burning at the bottom. Once it starts to boil, take it off the heat and strain, return the milk to the pan and add in some chopped up dark chocolate (300g for every 2 cups of milk) and whisk over a low heat until completly melted. Pour it into a large glass jug (easier than ladling it out, which is incredibly messy) and serve immediately. Enjoy! I don't have a recipe for the hot chocolate itself. I like to use Mexican Hot Chocolate tablets like Ibarra or Abuelita (see below) because that's the flavor of hot chocolate I grew up with.

Anyway, my advice is to use a large crockpot to keep the hot chocolate nice and hot. Heat it on High for an hour or so before the party, then turn it to Low once it gets hot. Keep a ladle nearby, along with mugs, and an assortment of toppings, as a previous answerer suggested (marshmallows, peppermint sticks, cinnamon, whipped cream, etc.).
