What kind of meat is commonly used for Carne Asada?
There is this mexican fast food place in San Diego I love and their carne asada burritos have this meat in them that looks like hamburger kind of.. but it's not.. it's just little tiny kind of roundish chunks of meat.. this place is kind of a greasy sppon kind of place but I love that style of mexican food. Anyone know what kind of meat this might be?
Answers: the most common cut of beef is skirt steak sliced 1/4-1/2 inch thick seasoned marinade with onions peppers garlic and lime juice for 2 hrs min. in fridge . then grilled on high heat 3-5 mins then turn and grill 3-mins more it's ready to take off the grill when edges are a little over cooked (that gives it that smokey flavor and crunch . LET MEAT REST ON WARMER PART OF GRILL CHOP OR SLICE INTO STRIPS SERVE AND ADD SIMPLE SALSA WITH JALAPENO'S,ONION-OR-SCALLIONS,... CILANTRO SALSA (ALL CHOPPED SALT TO TASTE ADD MORE LIME JUICE ---AND ENJOY !! Source(s):
MY-GRILL carne is beef
It has happend before where a restaurant has used dog meat instead of beef though. Beef. Carne asada, which literally means "grilled meat", is a grilled steak. Sounds like they cut up the meat in tiny pieces, b ut it is beef. Carne Asada is nothing more or less than a tenderloin flattenened thin by pounding, seasoned with garlic salt, salt, and pepper, and broiled at 500 degrees or fried in a hot, thick iron pan, served with green peppers fried in olive oil, and black beans decorated with bits of fried tortilla and topped with grated cheese. beef, right? Carne asada is grilled (usually flank) steak. It will always be beef. carne means meat. beef is tenera or carne de vaca. so it could be any meat really. Usually it marinated grilled flank steak cut on the bias.
