Answers: We travelled for 18 months in our 5th-wheel trailer and we lived off the toaster oven at that time. I cooked everything in the toaster oven. Made cookies, cakes, baked brownies, did toast, and all the meats - baked potatoes, etc.
So yes, you can do cakes in the toaster oven. It doesn't take as long to cook because the amount is less. yes just regulate the temp Sure just watch your bake time. And the temp you bake it on yea but you have to fix the temperature absolutely! Your right use a smaller pan and a smaller amount of cake batter and watch it carefully, usually as soon as you notice the edges getting lightly brown it is done. All toaster ovens are different so just do it carefully! HAVE FUN! sure but watch it closely and rotate it every few minutes. Some toaster ovens have a top element that heats even on the baking cycle with may burn the top of your cake before it is cooked thru so lay a piece of aluminum foil loosely over the top before you put it in and check it evey few minutes much too troublesome - the heat is not well distributed, oven is too small and usually burns on the top/bottom too quickly so you might have to stand in front of it and ensure the cake cooks evenly by constantly turning the pan, perhaps i wudnt suggest it That's how I make cornbread for my wife and myself. I use a small Corning ware casserole dish that just fits in the device, and halving the usual recipe works just fine. It's a square dish, but I don't see any reason a round or oblong one wouldn't work as well, just as long as you can close the toaster oven door completely. I don't put the lid on the casserole while baking in it.
