Answers: You must have an old recipe, a number 10 can hold 3 quarts, so you need 16 6 oz cans. 1 quart is 32 ounces, and you need 3 quarts so that is 96 ozs. 96 divided by 6 is 16, so you need 16 6 oz cans. Here's a site about can sizes. Source(s):
http://lancaster.unl.edu/food/ciq-can-si... A number 10 can holds about 3 quarts...sorry, it's too late for me to do the math, but it's a whole lot! Hope you have a lot of tomato paste, must be a huge recipe... first off how many people you plan on feeding. A number ten can is big. Go on line and see how many ounces are in a number ten can. Then divide it by six.

a number ten can holds 12 cups. one cup is 8 ounces. I will let you do the math.
