INGREDIENTS
2 cups pecan halves
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
DIRECTIONS
In a skillet over low heat, toast pecans in butter for 15 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring often. Drain on paper towels. In a bowl, combine the sugar and spices. Add pecans and toss to coat. Spread on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees F for 10 minutes. Cool. Store in an airtight container. Besides all the good recipe ideas you got (and I agree with them), you can add them to brownies or lots of cookie recipes or Waldorf salad, etc.
If you're not going to use them all within a couple weeks, put them in the freezer and then get out the amount you need as you need them. The freezer keeps them fresh for years. I finally opened the last package my mother had in her freezer and she's been in a nursing home for 5 years and they're still like new. Make a pecan pie or some turtle's... Grind some and top your favorite ice cream....
Make fudge, pecan roll (candy), brownies, or just crack and eat them.
