What kind of spices I should put in a chili?
Answers: Depends on what kind of chili you are making. If you are doing a sweet chili you add brown sugar and cinnamon to your other ingredients; If you are making a hot chili you would add chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic, a touch of oregano, make sure to add some bacon to your beans and meat, and some diced onion. I add cilantro but that's my choice. Chili, garlic, black pepper should do it. hot sauce Chili powder, pepper (cracked pepper works best), salt.

I like to put fresh cilantro on top of my chili when I am about to eat it. It really enhances the flavor.

i did 4 quarts in a crock pot, i used 3 1/2 tbs chili powder, 1/2 tbs cayanne, 1 tbs everything else, and it was really good. I used 1 full onion, 1/2 bell pepper, 4 cloves garlic, 1 lb ground beef, 1lb red beans, 2 cans tomato sauce, 1 can diced tomatos, 1 can diced jalapenos, 1/2 lb bacon with a couple tbs of the bacon grease in the chili, and the above mentioned spices, and about 3/4 - 1 cup water. it is best with chili man chili mix and ,mexine chili powder and cumin,and v 8 juice Here's an easy ground beef chili recipe:

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons chili powder
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
1 can (28 ounces) tomatoes, diced, with juices
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 can (15 ounces) chili beans, small red beans, or kidney beans, drained and rinsed
PREPARATION:
Cook first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan until meat is browned, stirring until it crumbles; drain off excess fat. Add chili powder and next 8 ingredients, stirring well; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Add beans, stirring well, and cook until thoroughly heated.
Serves 6 Chili powder and red pepper flakes will work well together.

lots of fresh veggies Paprika will give the red colour and flavour with out being too hot,and if you want the heat, add a little at a time of chili powder. I like to put salsa and green chiles with chili powder, beef (or no meat), chili beans and kidney beans and maybe a diced onion. DELICIOUS & EASY! It is really up to you. There are literally dozens of recipes for chili. However, there is one standard spice that is used in all chili. That spice is chili powder.

It is classic, and gives a nice dark look, and adds that ineffable something that most chili's are lacking.
