Which is better, pork ribs cooked on the pit or cooked in the oven?!

Question:

Which is better, pork ribs cooked on the pit or cooked in the oven?

I think that they can be just as good from the oven but my husband thinks that they have to be cooked on the pit. Which is better?

Answers: i like both. pit gets that great smoky taste while oven cooked gets all of the yummy juices in the ribs warmed up! Both are great. Why don't you cook some each way . Then you can compare. Now, you kn ow that if he does all the cooking on the pit, it is bond to be better. I don't know, like you say, they probably can be just as good from the oven. But there is something in our mind set or expectations when it comes to ribs that tells us that the pit is where it should be happening. I boil mine first for 45 minutes, add BBQ sauce and then put on the barbeque. The BBQ adds a certain taste that the oven doesn't.
