I deep fried chicken but it came out too salty :(?!

Question:

I deep fried chicken but it came out too salty :(?

Any suggestions on something I can mix it with or something that will take the saltiness away a little? Hubby will be home in 40 minutes and he hates salty food :(

Answers: Make a cream gravy and put the chicken in it.
In the skillet you cooked the chicken in, pour off all but about 3 T. of drippings. Add about 1/3 c. flour. Stir in the drippings until it starts to brown. Add milk/water mixture, a little at a time (about 3 c. total) to make a smooth gravy. Don't add any salt. Add the chicken to the gravy and turn down to simmer, as low as it will go, and let it cook in the gravy for about 45 min. Stir occasionally. The chicken will be falling off the bone but that is O.K.
Serve with mashed potatoes that also do not have any salt. i suggest you not feed your husband deep fried anything. it's extremely unhealthy. do you have b.q. sauce pour some on it stick in the oven .or i dont know try ordering takeout. Throw in a potato it will absorb the salt. This goes for anything with too much salt!! Good luck!! pull the breading off, shred the meat, make him a chicken taco with the shredded meat. To late to fix now, unless you peel of the skin and rinse under warm water, then peel from the bones, quickly reheat in the Micro, and serve on top a pasta with a garlic and butter sauce. Pour BBQ sauce all over it and stick in the oven for a on 300-350 and call it BBQ chicken instead. The BBQ sauce should help divert the saltiness. Remove the skin place the chicken back in a baking pan with cream of mushroom soup mixed with a half can of milk. Bake this all in the oven for another 30 minutes, serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The salt is probably in the crust and skin. Take the crust and the skin off and throw it away. Put the chicken in a sauce pan. Pour something over it: some ideas would be wine, orange juice, tomato juice, or spaghetti sauce or tomato paste with a little water. But not broth or boullion -- nothing salty! Let it simmer. You now have a completely different kind of chicken dish, but at least it should not be salty. Serve with green beans or corn or salad. Put some barbecue sauce on it. take the skin off the chicken....throw the skin away........greet him with a kiss, and and apron on,.........and he will be happy I've heard a raw potato will soak up extra salt. I'm not sure how you can get it to work with already salted and cooked chicken. The recommendation is usually to put the raw potato in the pot with what you are cooking, then take it out before it cooks to mush.

You might try rolling the chicken in a paper towel. That should take up some of the grease and perhaps some of the salt that is on the surface.

Here are some ideas that came from http://www.ehow.com/how_114444_fix-overs...

1
Step One
Think of salt, sugar and acid as the trinity that holds up all other flavors. When these three are out of balance, the other flavors in a dish can also fail to come together.
2
Step Two
To fix a sauce or soup that has too much salt, for example, add a dash of sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice.
3
Step Three
If a sauce or soup is too sweet for you, add salt and lemon juice.
4
Step Four
If a sauce or soup is too sour, then adjust the flavor with a bit of salt and sugar.
5
Step Five
Adjust seasonings gradually, and stir well after each addition.

Here's another website to bookmark. It tells how to fix a lot of mistakes in the kitchen:
http://busycooks.about.com/library/lesso... Once you have deep fried chicken, the only way to fix it is to remove the "crust". It's the coating that was too salty, probably.
You can make another batter/coating, if it's THAT important to have fried chicken, re dip chicken and re-fry in HOT oil, just enough to get a crispy crust. Beware,,,,,,the chicken will probably be either greasy or overcooked.
How about just taking the coating off and serving the chicken sliced with a great salad and what ever side dishes you planned. "Carolina" hit the nail on the head! That's exactly what I was going to suggest.
