What is this butter spread found in some restuarants?
I have forgotten what the butter spread was for the fresh homeade rolls I have had in a few restuarants. It had another flavor other than butter in it. Anyone have any ideas. Generally it's at the steak restuarants. If I knew what it was, I would try to make it at home. Any ideas? Thanks! Additional Details

Yes, it was slightly sweet.

The most recent I ate it was at Buckhead Bar and Grill in Louisville Ky. I believe there are a few other resturants that serve it, honey sounds right, but it seemed there was something else. I appreciate all the answers. I plan on trying making or trying some of these that you all have listed.

You can always whip butter and canola oil... I have no idea what kind of butter has flavor in it, but it sounds yummy. I'm hungry. Maybe add some garlic or Lawry's seasoning? I dont know what other restaurants use but my favorite is the land-o-lakes butter, its so good... If it was slightly sweet it was probably sweet cream butter with honey. If it was more savory it was probably roasted garlic butter (using salted butter). You can make either (any) easily-its called compound butter. For one roll of butter, use one stick of butter. Let butter soften to room temperature. Add two tablespoons of honey, mix well in a bowl. Scrape onto a piece of wax paper and roll up like a tootsie roll. Then freeze to harden and take out when ready to use. Some other variations- using sweet cream butter add 2 tsp. cinnamon, or add walnuts to the honey recipie above. With salted butter add 1/4 cup chopped chives, or chili powder. Enjoy!
