Who has eaten boiled peanuts before?!

Question:

Who has eaten boiled peanuts before?

If you have tell me what you think. For those that don't know about boiled peanuts, would you also tell how they are cooked, so we all know? I never knew these existed until a few years ago when visiting Alabama. Thanks for your time in answering!

I think it may be an acquired taste for a lot of people. If you grew up in the south, you were introduced to them early on. I took a little taste, but they are not for me, but I don't knock anyone that would like them. lol

Basically, it's fresh peanuts boiled in water with a little salt until cooked, about 30 minutes.

I liked them. The peanuts were soft and reminded me of peanut butter shaped like little beans. We bought some last time we were in South Carolina. They were awful....yuck! The pnut tasted just like a cooked pinto bean. I don't know how they cook those but we were disappointed. Just once - yuck! Disliked 'em so intensely I never asked how they were done. i thought they were pretty good myself. much fresher tasting and less of a greasy feeling after eating them. they have more of a snap when you eat them . . .
