How to make a hotdog? Boiled it or fried it?!

Question:

How to make a hotdog? Boiled it or fried it?

Answers: Boiled boiled is the only way to make a respectable hot dog I like them both ways, depends on my mood.
Boiled is just like good old ballpark food. I like to split them lengthwise and fry them flat until they get all crispy, though, too. Boil it in beer Dodger dog style! I have always boiled my hotdogs, but honestly, frying them in a little butter realllly tastes much better. you can boil, fry, or cook on a grill. it all depends on how you were raised. I would recommend boiling it. Really the only good ways to eat a hotdog are boiled or grilled.

Put some water in a pan, put the hot dogs in the pan and turn the heat on. When the water begins to boil, then leave the dogs in for about 2 more minutes and they should be done.

Hot dogs are precooked anyway. So, there's really no way to get sick off of undercooking them. Grilled hot dogs are the best however, if you are in a rush, wrap the hot dog in a paper towel and nuke it for a minute! Voila! fry it in a non stick frying pan
or
boil it in a pot of water

either way is good, but i prefer frying it Boiling them works, but the water can look unappetizing afterwards. If that doesn't bother you, then it is fun to cut them in various ways before boiling them, because as they plump, they will curl according to your cuts. If you are not cutting them but want the plumped effect, you can get it by steaming them. Another way is to wrap them in a wet paper towel and nuke them. I just pan fry them, no added oil, and not so much that they crisp, just so that they heat through. Frankly, it's easiest and most appetizing. Well... for indoor cooking, that is, because the best is outdoor cooking. Beer dogs are awesome, that's a great idea, awesome to marinate in beer as you cook it over the campfire. Don't believe it that you can't get sick from an uncooked hot dog. They precook them, yes, but the health standards for dogs are based on you cooking them. I've heard numerous warnings on news shows about not letting kids chow on them raw. Overall that about sums it up on hot dogs. Boiled ABSOLUTE you are dead wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Let 'em sit out until they reach room temperature. Slit 'em open half way..put a piece of cheese (Your choice of cheese) in the middle. Place 'em on a hot grill or a skillet and cook on medium heat 'till the cheese starts to melt slightly. I prefer a b-b-q pit grill. On a table (if you're at a cook-off or pic-nic) or the kitchen counter if you're at home, have an assortment of garnishings. Use your imagination. Chopped onions/black olives/pickles/tomato's etc..let 'em put their own dog together. You can fry 'em if you want but they get drier faster. Boiled is ok but the grill marks make the difference in the presentation. Mustard/katshup/mayo/salsa..an... my favorite.my homemade award winning chili. my sister makes this good hotdog. First she boils the hot dog, then cut it in half just enough so it will open but not separate then she will fry the bread just to a crisp and put the hot dog in and top it of with mayo and ketchup...it taste really good. You can also fry the hotdog if you like... depends on how you like it...
