What are Elephant Ears? Sounds familiar but I've forgotten. Elephant Ears, Funnel Cakes, Fried Twinkies (which I havent had the nerve to try)....Turky legs, hot dogs etc.... elephant ears and funnel cakes!!!!!! corn dogs, chicken on a stick, funnel cakes, smoked turkey legs, roasted corn, grilled sausage with peppers and onions, gyro's, kettle corn Funnel cakes, cotton candy, candy apples, sausages with onions and peppers, french fries, corn on the cob, turkey legs. I've traveled quite abit and love carnivals and carnival food, the south is not so different than any other place carnivals take place. I have been to a couple of carnivals last year here in Louisiana and they were selling
chocolate covered cheese
fried shrimp on a stick
red beans and rice
fried frog legs
fried turkey wings Smoked Turkey legs, Sausage w/ peppers & onions, elephant ears, candy & carmel apples Like every other carnival.Candy apples, cotton candy, hot dogs, and funnel cakes.I set up one year at a festival and sold sausage on a stick,Richards sausage and a kabob stick.Made money and had fun.... depends on where you came from. An elephant ear is generally a one-piece crisp fried dough sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Whereas a funnel cake is a bunch of little pieces of fried dough that merge together as its frying. This is lighter, more doughy than elephant ear. It is covered with powdered sugar and sometime fruit. Last year, there was a coca-cola variation going around. Some fried dough mixed with Ccoke while some drizzled Coke syrup on top. IMO, it was nothing special. The Coke flashed off in the fryer anyway.
other foods are fried candy bars and oreos and anything else you can imagine frying, glazed almonds, alligator on a stick, sausages galore, pizza, cotton candy, and on and on crawfish pie, boudin sausage, apple dumplings
