I want to know?
Is that 1/8 tsp of salt, cinnamon, or whatever really that important? Come on. I can almost count the grains in 1/8 tps salt. LOL How much of a difference in taste is it going to make if I forget it?
Answers: Cinnamon has an intense flavor and a little will give alot of flavor. As far as salt is concerned unless you are baking and sometimes even then I have been known to leave it out. In baking though you are working a formula and it may change something in the mix A little bit of salt brings out the flavor of the other ingredients. Cinnamon is pretty strong so a little goes a long way. Mmmhh...well it depends. Salt is often used as a flavor enhancer, obviously, but it also serves chemically in recipes, especially baking as well. Cinnamon is solely a flavor enhancer, and could be left out...especially if other spices around the same family are in the recipe, such as nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice, cloves, etc. salt brings out flavor and cinnamon hides other flavors.
