Question:

Any good tips for making hard boiled eggs easy to peel?

**Please note that I have reviewed every single old question that people have asked on YA, but have tried all the answers and they don't work**

Okay, first I always use eggs after I let them sit in the fridge for a week, because it's known that fresh eggs are harder to peel. Then I always boil my eggs, and as soon as they are done I run them under cold water for about 10 minutes, and then swish them around in the pot to pre-crack them (another thing that's suppsed to make them easy to peel). They go into the fridge and get nice and chilly, but they are still hard to peel!

The eggs are cooked perfectly, and taste great but I have had no luck getting them to peel eaisly, and without tearing up the egg!

Can anyone give me a good tip other than

Answers: Pour generous amount of salt over them while boiling.
Remove when done, crack and let set in cold water for a minute.
The eggs will almost peel themselves!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etgwdrfry... To be honest, I often have the same difficulty. The only other advice I've got is to peel them under running water. It helps, but I usually still end up with chunks of white peeling off with the shell. I have never had any problems peeling my eggs, but I always add vinegar to the boiling water, then rinse in cold running water, then crack the shells and peel. I then place the peeled eggs in an airtight container and put into the fridge until I use them. They stay nice and you don't ever worry about tearing up the eggs.
Hope this helps! peel them under running water and don't let them sit too long in the cold water. If the eggs are very fresh, they will be hard to peel no matter what method you use. try this..

after running them under cold water, throw them back in boiling water for 20 -30 seconds then one last time under cold water....the shock and stress helps release the shell... Roll the cooked and cooled eggs between your hands under cold running water. This cracks and loosens the shells and they come right off. Put water, cold, into pot and add eggs. As soon as the come to a boil time it for a minute in a half. Let them sit for about five minutes then run them under cold water.
When you are going to peel them crack them against counter and roll them back and forth until the whole shell is cracked.
While holding them under running cold water peel it!
I hope this will help you... peel them under running water and don't let them sit too long in the cold water. try this and u will be successful .
add tap water in a sauce pan ,add eggs or egg than add 1 table spoon salt if u have more than 3 eggs than add 2 tablespoons of salt than boil them.
i guarantee ,u will not have any complaint regarding egg peeling. Try cracking them on the wider end first then gently roll them on the counter with your palm. If you can get a crack to the inner membrane, the whole thing will just peel off. Add the eggs carefully to the pan, then add water & bring to a boil. Turn the burner down & boil "gently" for ten minutes.

When the time is up, take the pan to the sink, add cold water immediately & leave the eggs & water in the pan.

Then, tap the eggshell lightly & peel while running the egg under cold water.

Always works for me! peel them under cold running water after you have done the other things, like place them in cold water after cooking and cracking the shells when swishing them in the pot. I don't think you need to put them in the fridge for a week :) Yours is an excellent question and I already got one good suggestion from the answers - that of the vinegar. But cooking time is important, especially for high altitude - over six thousand feet and I see no help so far. Hi this may help:::::
Take a push pin and put a small hole in the fat end of the egg before you boil. This is where there is a little air pocket and it will let just enough water in to help with the peeling part.

Crack just a little and place in ice water the shells come off perfect even with fresh eggs...

Hope this works as good for you....
