How can I zest up grilled pork chops tonight?


I have been seasoning them with just sea salt and garlic powder. I coat them in olive oil and grill them. They are fantastic, but I would love a little change. (And I will be grilling them. I'm a grilling diva. lol)

Answers: LOL.. okay "Grilling Diva". Aren't pork chops wonderful grilled? yummy. I would just try some different seasonings, but otherwise do what you were doing. There's a wonderful seasoning I get from Trader Joe's that has got me hooked. It's called "21 Seasoning Salute". If you had Trader Joe's near you... that would be my answer. It's mixture, but far different from any seasoning mixtures I've seen.

Suggestion: Use your garlic powder and try a mixture of some herbs, like Ital. seasoning, or crushed tarragon and basil, maybe those onion flakes? (have never used them), cilantro, etc. and pepper. Just look over your spices and herbs collection and use your imagination. I'm sure whatever you do will be great. I like to salt mine with seasoning salt. I like to bread mine with spicy pork rindes. It is wonderful! ok soak em in some hotsauce, salt, itallien dressing( a tad) and water.. tastes very good and somewhat hot Best Pork Chops Recipe

Marinade:

1/2 cup water
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup cooking oil
3 Tbsp. lemon and pepper seasoning
2 garlic cloves, minced
6 pork chops, all fat removed

Marinade: In deep bowl combine water, soy sauce, cooking oil, lemon pepper and garlic. Stir well.

Place meat into marinade. Marinate for at least 45 minutes. Cook on greased grill over medium heat for about 25 minutes total time. Turn and baste during cooking time. Makes 6 servings. Raspberry-chipotle marinade is soooo good on pork chops! You can find it wherever your supermarket keeps the BBQ sauce. Marinate them in spicy italian dressing with garlic, then grill over medium coals til done. Serve along with garlic seasoned rice or sweet potato casserole - you could even do grilled sweet potato wedges, sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon along with another side like grilled asparagus or corn. Serve with homemade garlic bread & plenty of sweet tea! Make a paste out of fresh rosemary, garlic, olive oil, coarse black pepper, and kosher salt (or sea salt). Use only enough oil to get the ingredients to blend.

Spread onto chops. Let rest 30 min at room temp. Grill. 2 cups worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Cavender's seasoning

mix in a steel bowl
place four thick porkchops in a 1 gallon zip bag
add mixture
squeeze out air
seal
refrigerate for 60 minutes
grill chops indirect with the cover down for 30-40 minutes or until cooked through I have always found pork chops very tasty I usually only add some salt and pepper, but you can also use some BBQ sauce speciallky if you are going to grill them. soak/coat them in a mix of orange juice (1 cup), peanut butter (2 teaspoons), catsup (2 teaspoons), brown sugar (2 Tablespoons) and black pepper (just a little bit - 1/4 teaspoon). the longer they soak the more it will penetrate.

I also like to use a dry rub of Greek seasoning, followed by just a little bit of lemon juice right before cooking. Keep what you usually do, you've got a good thing there, but add in a dash of dried red pepper flakes and some lime juice. i like to to use the K.I.S.S. method..or Keep It Simple Stupid method.

just add lemon and lime juice in a mixer w/some fresh herbs (dried italian mix will work too),..
blend it all up with a a little bit of olive oil...
and baste before and during grilling.

The simple taste's will be *pop* and make your chops a little zingy. Add hot sause to the equation and spice it up a bit! Soy sauce! Soy sauce improves everything! I have a 'standard marinade' I use when I can't be bothered thinking of anything better - soy sauce, ginger, honey or brown sugar, and orange juice. Tasty. For grilling, you'd probably want to soak the pork in the marinade first before grilling... I usually roast, so I just roast it in foil and put the marinade inside the foil. I know grilling's healthier but I'm lazy, and I don't want to have to stand and watch it lest it burn.
