Fruity or Coco Pebbles for crispy treats bars?!
Fruity or Coco Pebbles for crispy treats bars?
I know you can use Fruity or Coco Pebbles instead of Rice Krispies for making the treats. Which one tastes better? I can't use Rice Krispies because it has wheat in it. I have also head that some people use chocolate chips in with the Fruity kind. Is that any good? My no wheat diet is new to me and I am having a hard time imagining Rice Krispie Treats made with Pebbles.
Answers: My Mom would make , "chocolate covered cherry rice treats" by taking all the red fruity pebbles out, making rice krispie balls with them, then rolling the red rice balls in coco pebbles... It was a lot of time to take all the red ones out, but it was fun to do with her.. Plus they tasted great! If you can find some brands that have some imatations of these that don't include wheat you can make this.
The timing was tricky too. What we did was we let the red balls cool, then we would set out a baking dish filled with the coco pebs. We would dip the a red ball in some more of the melted marshmallow/butter mix (that we had to keep reheating periodically) and then immediately ran the ball through the coco pebs. Then set them on wax paper to cool. Put the wax paper in a baking dish, so that when you fill the baking dish you can put them in the fridge to chill.
Have fun! I hope you can find some without wheat. I made them with Fruity Pebbles and they were really good. The chocolate chips in them doesnt sound so great to me. fruity and coco pebbles have wheat in them too. Id go with the coco pebbles, that sounds better with marshmellow than Fruity does. Fruity ones with choc chips doesnt sound like itd go together. I love cocoa pebbles, haven't tried fruity pebbles. Hello:
Fruity Pebbles crispy treat bars are the best, they taste really good! In fact,I made some for my daughter's bake sale at her elementary school, and these sold out before the Kelloggs Rice Krispies treats did,not kidding! ;-)
I especially love to make Fruity Pebbles bars during the holidays and taking red string licorice and tying it around the Fruity Pebble bar to look like a bow on a present,it looks really nice! ;-) definitely chocolate. the fruit does not sound like it tastes that good and i love rice krispies! I don't like the fruity ones. Cocoa pebbles crispies sound great!! I used to make Rice Krispie treat with chocolate when I was a teenager and they were really good. (I used my chocolate from easter, cause I didn't really like plain chocolate.) My mother used to make the coco ones, but added peanut butter in it. Yummmmm. It depends which taste you like, but the fruity is good and sweet!
