How do I make the icing that you get inside shop bought birthday cakes?!

Question:

How do I make the icing that you get inside shop bought birthday cakes?

You know that yummy, soft, creamy icing? Does anyone know how I can make confectioners icing please?

Answers: While all the above recipes are fine for making buttercream, they don't quite have the fluffiness an Italian buttercream would have. The process takes longer, and it's a bit more involved, but you end up with an AMAZING icing. The link below is a recipe for italian buttercream (feel free to omit the grand marnier, and add other flavourings instead.) Source(s):
http://www.recipezaar.com/122632... don't know how to make it but you can buy that ready rolled icing I think thats the same Sounds like buttercream icing and it's so easy to make, you simply mix softened butter together with icing sugar. You can buy it pre-prepared if you need a non-dairy option. It's sold in tubs in most UK supermarkets and it's called SUPER COOK EASY ICE. this is buttercream icing, you mix icing into whisked butter or alternative!! you can flavour the icing with lemon juice or other flavourings such as coffee, chocolate or even orange. try to avoid making it too sweet as this can take away the flavour of the cake. Could be fondant icing if you mean the icing on top of cakes Buttercream icing is quite good.
