I want a REAL belgian waffle recipe!?
I seen a show where someone was eatting a belgian waffle (I think it was filmed in that country!)that was described it as "DENSE, SWEET and heavy. "
I have looked on 2 well known sites for that in the reviews- (allrecipes.com and foodnetwork.com) but ALL listed are the same (I dont want the same ol' light, crispy and fluffy)!!! UGH!

Answers: GAUFRETTES - BELGIAN WAFFLES
4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 lb. sweet butter, softened
4 eggs
2 tbsp. rum
Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Make a well in the center and put the softened butter, eggs and rum in well. Gradually mix the flour into other ingredients. Let the mixture, which will be a paste, stand at room temperature, uncovered, for 2 hours. Divide into small balls the size of 2 tablespoons, and cook them in a waffle iron. Cool on a rack and store as for cookies.
Makes 3-4 dozen. True Belgian Waffle

3/4 cup sugar
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup butter, melted (no substitutes)
1 teaspoon vanilla
fresh fruit or syrup

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder.
In another bowl, lightly beat the egg yolks. To this add, milk, butter, and vanilla; mix well.
Stir into dry ingredients, until just combined.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, and fold into batter.
Bake in a preheated waffle iron, according to manufacturers directions until golden brown.
Serve with fresh fruit, or syrup.
Yield: 10 Waffles (about 4 1/2 inches).
Don't cook them as long if you do not want them crispy! found this for you enjoy
