Answers: The carrots, I prefer the skin on my potatoes. carrots. they are smoother and i don't get as messy lol Carrots are easier so I'd pick them. x neither, if I had the choice but carrots are easier. the potatoes as you have to cut the top and bottom off the carrots = more work and time consuming Potatoes. Neither because a lot of the vitamins are in the skin. Carrots. They're easier. And g*d knows I've peeled way too many potatoes at work to never want to peel them again! neither, I only peel potatoes when I am making snowwhite mashed potatoes, (like for Thanksgiving Dinner) I use the dark green scrubbie (designated only for veggies) and scrub the potatoes well, and do the same for the carrots. Simple and done quick. Carrots.
Just hold the carrot in one hand at the top, lean bottom of carrot on chopping board at an angle and peel away from yourself while turning the carrot with your other hand.
Then swap ends. I never peel carrots or potatoes. Just scrub really well to insure you remove all the dirt. Rinse and slice or cook whole. I think leaving the sink on add an extra flavor. deffo the carrots, much faster Carrots! I would probably peel carrots cause i like carrots but I H8 POTATOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... And i meen it dude! Carrots =] never peel none of them but would go for potatoes Given a choice, I would peel neither one. There are excellent vitamins in the peels or skins of both vegetables. The only potato I've ever had to peel is the big Russet potato because the skin on it is very tough. Just make sure that you give them a thorough scrubbing with a soft brush before you cook them.
And if you can, steaming is better because it leaves more of the natural vitamins in that boiling in water tends to remove. Depends on what I am cooking them with. Peeled makes a nicer presentation. I never peel carrots, always spuds - unless they are Jersey Royals or baby new. I usually don't peel them because the skin is edible and nutritional.
I'll peel them only if the recipe absolutely needs them to be peeled, like making mashed potatoes.
