They apparently work very well. Crushed corn flakes and melted butter make a great topping for baked dishes, instead of breadcrumbs. Also, as a dessert use crushed corn flakes in cobblers and crisps. One part cornflakes, one part corn syrup, one part peanut butter, heat on low syrup and peanut butter, add cornflakes. Place in a casserole dish and spread out. now take peanut butter and chocolate chips, melt and spread over top. refrigerate it and serve Hope this link helps.

http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,co... A recipe for Easy Corn Flake-Crusted Fish

Ingredients

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1/4 cup water

3 cups Country Corn Flakes cereal, crushed (about 1 2/3 cups)

4 cod fillets (4 to 6 ounces each)

2 tablespoons canola or soybean oil
Preparation
Prep Time: 30 minutes | Start to Finish: 30 minutes

1. In shallow dish, mix flour and salt. In another shallow dish, beat egg and water with fork. Place crushed cereal in third shallow dish. Dip fish in flour, coating well; shake off excess. Dip floured fish in egg mixture, then in cereal, coating all sides completely. Place coated fish on ungreased cookie sheet.

2. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat until hot. Keeping at least 1 inch between fish fillets and cooking in batches if needed, cook fish in oil 3 to 4 minutes on each side, turning once, until well browned and fish flakes easily with fork. If needed, place cooked fish on paper towels on cookie sheet and keep warm in 225°F oven while cooking remaining fish CORN FLAKE COOKIES

1/2 lb. caramels
1 tbsp. milk
1/2 stick butter
5 c. corn flakes

In a large pot melt the caramels with the milk and butter. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Add corn flakes. Stir until coated with caramel mix. Press into a buttered 8 x 8 inch pan. Cut when cool.

CORN FLAKE CRISPIES

1 c. white corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. crunchy peanut butter
8 c. partially crushed corn flakes

Stir together sugar and syrup. Bring to a boil. Add peanut butter. Pour over corn flakes and stir. Pack down in pan and cut into serving pieces. Sweet and sour cornflakes are really the "in thing" at the moment.
Add a sweet and sour sauce, with a leftover meat eg. BurgerKing or MaccieDee's and cook until it goes "Snap, Crackle and Pop"
A vegetarian alternative utilises baked beans, a ton of cornflakes, and will have you breaking wind more frequently than Prince Phillip of England.
Have you considered buying cornflakes by the packet? In a casserole dish, pour a can of mushroom soup over chicken legs and thighs, season the whole mess with garlic powder and any other of your favorites.

Sprinkle corn flakes over the top of the whole mess, add some water to the bottom of the pan and slip it into 375 degree, preheated oven for an hour.

Oh, yummm!

Also works with bran flakes, crushed Cheerios, Rice, Wheat Chex and pretty much any other kinds of cereal.

In place of water, you can add some orange juice. Take different kind of chocolate...white, black and milk...liquify it in different pots and mix it with corn flakes. Than use oven paper and with a spoon make some little portion of the mixture. Wait for it to be cold and u'll have good chocolates!!!

Another way is to do a carrot cake. Take carrots and make them in little little pieces (sorry i dont know the verb in english). Mix 100 gr of butter, 100 gr of sugar, 3 eggs, 200 gr of flour, yeast, carrots, cornflakes previously broken in little pieces, some almonds, little bit of salt. if it's too hard, put some milk. Put in the oven (180°C for 40 min more or less..it dipends from the oven...:-)).

Sorry for my english, but....buon appetito!

Sara Here's a recipe that I really like

Corn Flake Drops

2 cups sugar
2 cups light karo
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 18oz jar peanut butter
10 cups conflakes
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 butter size of egg

bring sugar, karo, vinegar, vanilla, butter to boil.
stir in PB and corn flakes
drop on wax paper or press into 9 by 13 pan

Here's another I copied off the back of a box of corn flakes, haven't tried it yet

1 package choc chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
5 cups corn flakes

combine choc chips, butterscotch chips and PB in sauce pan, melt over low heat. Add corn flakes stir until evenly coated. Press into 9 by 9 pan coated with cooking spray Crush them up reallly, really well and then dip boneless, skinless chicken breast in melted butter and then into the cornflake crumbs and then bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes Corn flakes & melted choc in bun cases...... yyyyyyyyyuuuuuuummmmmmm!!!!! i agree with my twinyN . mom Maelley (an exotic name) always cooks em on cold winters days when its snowing to thaw us out! god bless her! Id definetly suggest going to recipezaar and plugging in corn flakes but a couple of my ideas at the top of my head would be crunchy french toast, crispy chicken..
