Do you know any good seasonings for pinto beans and rice?!

Question: It can be one herb or a seasoning mixture. It's part of this new healthy eating thing I'm doing and beans and rice seem so boring. Tonight we're having fish, broccoli, corn on the cob, and rice and beans. Please help!

i eat beans and rice all the time. pour any amount that satisfies ur taste

Seasoning salt.
salt, pepper, and butter. I know it sounds boring, but my dad loves it and eats it all the time. Don't know of anything else, sorry.
sazon its a seasoning packet really good. or try cooking them in chinken stock or broth.
u can put recaito in it, it's in the frozen ethinic food isle or u can use sazon & sofrito
I personally would only add a little gralic to the beans. Sometimes beans are better standing on their own and are delish mixed in with the rice. Dirty rice and beans-yummo. Also Mrs. Dash works well.
Cook your rice in vegetable broth then add cumin, cayenne and oregano.
yeah boring

think of the beans and rice as the main part of the meal

I like basmati rice and black beans

use some broth to make the rice if you have it or a little oil or butter and salt

for the beans, cook a little bacon or ham first in olive oil, add some cumin and garlic, salt and pepper, maybe even a little lemon juice, like black bean soup

some pork always goes well with beans

try it that way, then add the pan fried fish and broccolli and corn, 10 minutes in boiling water
**OUR RANCH HOUSE RED BEANS AND RICE

2 c. (1 lb.) dried red kidney beans
5 strips bacon (or ham bone or 1/4 lb. salt pork)
1/2 c. uncooked rice
2 1/2 qts. water
1 pod garlic
Salt and pepper to taste

Soak beans overnight in 1 quart water in a heavy iron pot. Add another 1 1/2 quarts water, cut up meat, garlic, and a little salt. Simmer slowly 3 to 4 hours or until beans are very soft and water has cooked down to a thick red sauce. Add salt and pepper and serve over hot, fluffy rice. With hot bread and salad, makes a hearty meal for 6.
Leftover red beans can be made into soup by putting through blender with some chicken bouillon and a little lemon juice. Stir in 1 tablespoon sherry per serving, with hard boiled egg sprinkled on top.
I put some bacon drippins(pork fat rules) in my beans and a spoon full of liquid smoke, and a *hamhock.
I let that hamhock cook down
in a seperate pot till it is falling apart and then add all of that to the simmering beans. That way the beans don't all get boiled to death and fall apart.Throw some whole okra in them beans to kick it up a notch.
1 seasoning you could try is paprika, seasoning salt, cumin, and a touch of cinnamon. For your main ingredient put a few bits of hazelnuts.
ADOBO! it's a seasoning that you can get it in the ethnic food section. It's so versitile and yummy. You can get it with or without cumin, with or without black pepper...
I especially like it in my beans. You get a lot of flavor without adding fat, like bacon or something, and you wont miss the fat!
If you're using canned beans, drain and rinse them really well, add just enough water to cover the beans, give it a generous amount of adobo seasoning, 1/2 tablespoon or so, and heat it up! If you taste them and want more adobo, add more! There is salt though. So if your healthy diet is cutting down on salt... it's still better than bacon! but you might want to add more adobo when it's done cooking instead of heaping it in the water.

Adobo is great on chicken, rice, fish, veggies, whatever!
Have fun!
put some saz'on seasoning in it
you should find it in the ethnic isle of your grocery store . this season adds color and flavor !
Adobo is great!
If you don't mix the beans and rice together you can put onions in the beans and cook the rice in low fat and low salt chicken broth. Try using sea salt in place of regular salt.
I always go with Tony Casherre's creole seasoning (beans and rice..o yea) or garlic powder
In my beans I use garlic powder,Cajun seasoning, green onions(to taste)and chili powder. For white beans I the same except for the chili powder,I omit it and add a squirt of mustard and a pinch of sugar...Really good..even with limas.
