What's the best way to make taco meat?!

Question: I generally just use taco seasoning but I'm looking for other ways to cook it or something else to add. We just use hard shells so no soft tacos if that makes a difference.

The basics for taco meat seasoning are: Ground Cumin, Chili Peppers, Oregano, Garlic and onion. Fresh garlic and onion are best but you can use a good brand of powdered garlic, one that doesn't have the non-caking stuff in it, and onion is best freshly chopped but you can use the frozen kind. For one pound of meat: start with a teaspoon of ground cumin, about 1/2 of a small red chili, seeded or use ground Cheyenne about 1/8 tsp about 1/2 a teaspoon of oregano and about 2/3 - one cup chopped onion. Taste and adjust. You may need to add just a little salt. You can add: chopped celery, chopped bell peppers (color of your liking) and whatever else you want, even a little diced tomato if you wish. These are the basics for soft or hard shell taco meat.
We've used many things... Onions, garlic, cumin, salt, pepper, ketchup, jarred salsa... basically, anything you think goes well with tacos can be put in with the meat.
Add chopped onions, drained can of corn, sliced black olives, salsa. You could also add some cooked rice.
Sam's recipes sounds delicious.
The easiest way to add seasoning without using a packet, is adding salsa. Cook your meat until almost done and add some salsa (canned, jarred, or fresh) to the pan. Cook for a couple more minutes. This is the easiest way to get really good flavor. Good Luck!!
i always add taco sauce or salsa along with my seasonings. make a richer tastier sauce.
um not sure all these other answers are pretty reliable
