What is the difference between a souffle dish and a ramekin? Can you use ramekins to make souffle?!

Question: As mentioned, ramekins are smaller than a souffle dish. My large souffle dish holds about 2 qts. You can make either one large souffle, or several smaller ones (individuals). However, you may need to adjust your cooking/baking time for the smaller ones. Either way is good -- just fill them about 3/4 of the way - as they will puff/rise.

ramekins are smaller...usually used to serve sauce on the side of things
Ramekins are smaller. Yes, you can use them to make a small souffle if they are oven proof.
They are interchangeable..just use the one you want. If a recipe calls for a certain size ramekin and you have a souffle dish that size, voila! It will magically become a ramekin..
You can, a rammekin would make an individual serving of a souffle. A rammekin is basically a tiny souffle dish.

I make small individual chocolate souffles in my rammekins. I put biscuit dough in the bottom and up the sides, and then top it with bacon, eggs and cheese, and then bake. They are great for making individual pies too. Anything that you want to be just one serving.
